Pull apart as shown on the illustration on back of the package. The pewter tip should be removed. Use a cotton swab, a twisted piece of tissue or a pipe cleaner to clean the stem, stem slot, barrel, and internal areas of the mouthpiece. Don't try to wipe clean with your hands. Use a nylon bristle clipped from a household brush to gently clean the small air vent. Do not clean with a metal object, such as a needle or pin, which could damage the filter.
